A digital hall pass replaces paper sign-out slips: a student taps their name and picks where they're going, a timer starts, and the teacher sees who's out and for how long. Every pass is saved, so schools can spot patterns and stop two students from being out at the same time.

No account, no app, no login. Students tap their name on a shared Chromebook by the door — or click a Google Classroom Quick Link on their own device. It works even when districts block student Google sign-in.

Yes. Sign in with your school Google account and your classes sync automatically from Google Classroom. No CSV uploads or manual roster entry required, no setup calls.

Teachers flag two students who shouldn't be in the hallway at the same time. When one has an active pass, the other is blocked at the kiosk and told to ask their teacher. The warning also shows on the teacher dashboard so they can override if needed. On the free Solo plan, restrictions cover your own classes; on the School Plan they're school-wide — across every teacher's classes — and admins can manage them.

Passes automatically close after 30 minutes. The dashboard flags the pass in red and marks it "may have forgotten to sign back in" — visible in real time without the teacher having to check manually.

$999/year per school — one flat price, any school size. Unlimited teachers, unlimited students, unlimited passes. No setup fee, no per-student calculations. If your enrollment grows mid-year, your price doesn't. Individual teachers can use the Solo plan for free. Schools get a 60-day school trial with no payment required. Schools can pay by invoice, PO or card.

If you do nothing, your account drops to the free Solo plan — you never lose access entirely. To keep School Plan features (admin dashboard, school-wide pair restrictions, multiple teachers), you pay $999 for the year — by invoice, PO or card.

Yes. The Solo plan is free for a single teacher — no approval process, no IT ticket, no school email required. Just sign in with your Google account. Solo isn't a trial — it stays free.

Ask your admin for your school's join link. If you already have a free account, Hallwise asks before moving you into the school.

Yes. Schools can pay by invoice or purchase order (or card). We sign Data Processing Agreements with schools and districts: we confirm within 1 business day and return a signed agreement within 3 business days. Use the contact form below or email hello@hallwise.com.

No. A pass records only the destination the student picks and when it starts and ends — no GPS, no location tracking, and no student phones needed.

We only collect what's needed to run Hallwise for your school, such as student names, class rosters and pass records (the full list is in our privacy policy). We never sell student data or use it for advertising. Solo teachers and school admins can delete their account and all its data themselves in Settings (schools on an active paid plan email us instead), or email hello@hallwise.com and we'll confirm deletion within 5 business days. We act as a school data processor under FERPA's school official exception and sign Data Processing Agreements on request.
