Agreement

By signing up for Hallwise ("the Service"), you ("the School" or "Administrator") agree to these Terms of Service. These terms form a binding agreement between your school or district and Hallwise.

The Service

Hallwise provides a digital hall pass management system for K-12 schools. The service includes:

  • Teacher dashboard for issuing and monitoring hall passes
  • Student interface for requesting passes
  • Admin dashboard for school-wide monitoring and reporting
  • Google Classroom integration for roster sync

Plans, Free Trial, and Billing

Solo Plan (free)

  • Available to individual teachers at no cost, with no credit card required.
  • Includes all core pass features for a single teacher account. Does not include multi-teacher school features (admin dashboard, student pair restrictions, custom destinations, lockdown mode).
  • No payment required — Hallwise reserves the right to change the Solo Plan terms at any time, but existing accounts will be given reasonable notice of any change.

School Plan — $599/year

  • New schools receive a 60-day free trial with full School Plan access. No credit card is required to start the trial.
  • After the trial, continued access to School Plan features requires a paid subscription at $599 per school per year, regardless of enrollment size.
  • Unlimited teachers, unlimited students, and unlimited passes are included. Enrollment changes do not affect the price.
  • Subscriptions are billed annually. You may cancel at any time.
  • No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except where required by law.

District pricing

  • Custom pricing is available for multi-school districts. Contact hello@hallwise.com for a quote.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 60 days' notice to existing subscribers.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Hallwise only for its intended purpose of managing student hall passes within your school. You agree not to:

  • Share login credentials between multiple schools under a single subscription
  • Attempt to access data belonging to other schools
  • Use the service to collect data beyond what is needed for hall pass management
  • Reverse engineer or copy the service

Data and Privacy

Your use of student data through Hallwise is governed by our Privacy Policy. As the school administrator, you are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate authority to connect your Google Classroom account and sync student roster data to Hallwise.

We act as a data processor on behalf of your school. Your school remains the data controller for all student educational records.

Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the service. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service downtime. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible.

Limitation of Liability

Hallwise is a tool to assist with hall pass management. It does not replace teacher supervision or school safety procedures. We are not liable for any incidents involving students during hall pass periods. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the preceding 12 months.

Termination

Either party may terminate the service at any time. Upon termination, your access will end at the close of your current billing period. You may request deletion of your school's data within 90 days of termination by contacting us.

Changes to Terms

We will notify school administrators by email of any material changes to these terms at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
